- Japan and Switzerland will greet the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2014. The two countries will hold a variety of exchange events to commemorate this. It is hoped that it will be an opportunity to deepen the bilateral relationship, and so a public competition is being launched jointly for a logo and claim (catchphrase) to be used during commemorative events.
- Any person who has Japanese or Swiss citizenship or, in the case of other nationalities, who is a resident of Japan or Switzerland, is eligible to propose a logo and claim (catchphrase).
