On Thursday, January 12, Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, Prime Minister of Japan, conveyed a message to H.E. Mr. Raimundo Pereira, Acting President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, expressing his condolence at the demise of H.E. Mr. Malam Bacai Sahna, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, on Monday, January 9. The message reflected on the achievements of the late President Sanha in developing Japan-Guinea-Bissau relations and conveyed heartfelt condolences.
On the same day, Mr. Koichiro Gemba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, conveyed a similar message to H.E. Mr. Mamadu Saliu Djalo Pires, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Communities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
