Dispatch of Election Observers to the Parliamentary (Mazhlis) Election of the Republic of Kazakhstan

- The Government of Japan has decided to dispatch two election observers to the international election observation mission organized by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe / the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), in order to support fair conduct of the parliamentary (Mazhlis) election of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is scheduled for Sunday, January 15. The observers are dispatched from the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- The upcoming parliamentary (Mazhlis) election will be held following the dissolution of the Parliament (Mazhlis) by the President Nazarbayev in November 2011. The Government of Japan expects that the election will be implemented fairly, which is important for stability and advancement of democratic transition of Kazakhstan.
