- On Thursday, August 11, the Government of Japan decided to dispatch a Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) expert team (one physician specializing in burn injuries and one nurse), following a request from the Government of Russia, in response to a fire at a petroleum refining plant in Khabarovsk region, Russia.
- In response to a fire that broke out on Sunday, August 7, at a petroleum refining plant in Khabarovsk region, Russia, injuring five (among which two suffered full-body burns), on the night of Wednesday, August 10, the Russian Government requested the dispatch of a Japanese expert team specializing in burn injuries.
- The JDR team is scheduled to leave for Russia from Narita Airport on Thursday, August 11.
