Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Terrorist Attack in Somalia

- A terrorist attack occurred in Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia, on Friday, June 10 and caused the decease of Mr. Abdishakur Sheikh Hassan Farah, Minister of Interior and National Security of the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia. Japan strongly condemns this terrorist act and expresses its deepest condolences for the families of the victims.
- It is extremely deplorable that the terrorist attack occurred whilst peace efforts continue in Somalia, within the framework of the TFG, which is supported by the international community.
- Japan will continue to offer its cooperation and provide assistance in order to stabilize the situation in Somalia in collaboration with the international community.
