Relief Supply from the Republic of Chile

- In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Government of the Republic of Chile provided Chiyoda City with 2,000 blankets as relief supply, in cooperation with the World Food Programme. A ceremony was held in Chiyoda City Office on Wednesday, May 31 to appreciate this assistance.
- The blankets offered by the Government of the Republic of Chile will be delivered to the affected people.
- The President of the Republic of Chile Dr. Sebastián Piñera, sent a message of sympathy and expressed the offer of assistance soon after the earthquake. This assistance follows the first donation by the Government of the Republic of Chile of 100 kg of rice purchased in Japan to Minamisanriku, Miyagi, in April. The Government of Japan deeply appreciates the assistance extended by the Government of Chile and its people.
