Signing of the Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Peru for an Economic Partnership

- On Tuesday, May 31, the Government of Japan decided at its Cabinet Meeting to sign the Agreement between Japan and the Republic of Peru for an Economic Partnership (“JPEPA”).
- Based on this decision, Mr. Takeaki Matsumoto, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Eduardo Ferreyros Kuppers, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Peru, will sign this Agreement and its Implementing Agreement on the occasion of their meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 31 in Tokyo.
- It is expected that this Agreement will promote the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment between the two countries and will further vitalize both economies by strengthening reciprocal economic ties in wide-ranging fields.
