Establishment of the Mission of Japan to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations

On Thursday, May 26, the Government of Japan established the Mission of Japan to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Jakarta, the Republic of Indonesia.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is our second largest trading partner just behind China and our largest investment destination in East Asia. ASEAN is expected to continue its high economic growth and the region is significantly important for the growth of Japan.
The establishment of the Mission will contribute toward further strengthening and developing the relations between Japan and ASEAN.
