Meeting with Chinese Experts on Atomic Energy to Exchange Views and Information

  1. A meeting to exchange views and information between Chinese experts on atomic energy and related Japanese agencies will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, May 20, in an attempt to enhance collaboration related to the Great East Japan Earthquake on issues including the safety management of nuclear power plants and radiation measurement.

  2. Experts and specialists representing the following agencies will attend the meeting.

    (1) Japan: Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Nuclear Safety Commission; Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency; Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization; and other agencies.

    (2) China: China Atomic Energy Authority, China Institute of Atomic Energy, China Institute for Radiation Protection, China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., and other agencies.

  3. The Chinese delegate is scheduled to make a courtesy visit to Makiko Kikuta, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, on Friday, May 20.
