  1. From Friday, May 13 to Sunday, May 15, Mr. Ikuo Yamahana, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Republic of Haiti.

  2. As an Ambassador on Special Mission of the Government of Japan, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yamahana will attend the inauguration ceremony of Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, President-elect of the Republic of Haiti, to be held in Haiti on Saturday, May 14. Parliamentary Vice-Minister Yamahana is also scheduled to visit the camp of the Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) unit deployed to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) to observe their activities and inspire JSDF members, as well as to meet with Japanese NGOs and others engaged in activities in Haiti.
