- Today, (Friday, March 18), from 17:50 for about 20 minutes, Mr. Takeaki Matsumoto, Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Kwon Chul hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea(ROK) to Japan.
- Congratulating Minister Matsumoto on his inauguration, Ambassador Kwon made the following remarks:
I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the great damage caused by Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake. President Lee Myung-Bak made a condolence visit to the Japanese embassy in Seoul today. I pray that Japan will recover from the disaster as quickly as possible. As a true friend of Japan, the ROK would like to provide maximum assistance to Japan.
- Minister Matsumoto made the following remarks:
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the assistance offered by the government of the ROK and the people of the ROK. The people of Japan are encouraged by the ROK’s assistance and feel a close connection to the ROK. I was impressed by his words of condolences at his visit to our embassy in Seoul today. The government of Japan would like to make the utmost effort to overcome the difficulties.
