- On Tuesday, November 15, the National Elections Commission of Liberia announced the final results of the Republic of Liberia’s presidential runoff election, which took place on Tuesday, November 8. The Commission announced that Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, incumbent President, was elected. Japan offers its congratulations to President Johnson-Sirleaf on being reelected.
- Japan hopes that national reconciliation, democracy and economic development will advance in Liberia under the leadership of President Johnson-Sirleaf with the cooperation of all political forces.
