Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Outcome of the Arab League Emergency Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the Situation in Syria

Syria accepted the action plan proposed by the League of Arab States during its emergency foreign ministers’ meeting on the situation in Syria, which took place in Cairo, Egypt on November 2. Japan welcomes the efforts of the League of Arab States.
Japan expects that Syria's acceptance of the action plan will lead to improvement of the situation. To prevent further killings of innocent people, Japan urges the Syrian Government to swiftly implement all items of the action plan of the League of Arab States , including the immediate cessation of all violence.
