Dispatch of Ambassador on Special Mission to the Inauguration Ceremony of the President of the Republic of the Philippines

  1. On June 22, the Government of Japan decided to dispatch H.E. Mr. Osamu Fujimura, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, as Ambassador on Special Mission to the Inauguration Ceremony of H.E. Mr. Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III as the President of the Republic of the Philippines to be held in Manila, Philippines on June 30.

  2. Japan and the Philippines share values such as freedom, democracy and respect for human rights and have built close ties as neighbors located on the sea lane.  The two countries have strengthened their relationship as they announced a Joint Statement “Fostering a Strategic Partnership for the Future” in June last year.

  3. The Government of Japan decided to dispatch Ambassador on Special Mission to the ceremony to demonstrate Japan’s continued emphasis on its relations with the Philippines.
