- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host “Journalists Symposium 2010” on March 3 (Wed), under the theme of “Mutual Understanding and Progress of Intraregional Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region and Journalism - Achievements in the 20 years of APEC, and Future -” at the Nippon Press Center Building.
- This symposium will be attended by journalists from Australia, China, Singapore, and Japan. While considering the progress of cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region up until now, a frank exchange of opinions will be held regarding topics including the role of the media with respect to increasing mutual understanding and expanding regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region in the future.
- For the Symposium’s opening remarks, a message by Mr. Koichi Takemasa, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, regarding Japan’s efforts toward APEC in 2010 is scheduled to be delivered.
