Japan welcomes the fact that the presidential election and the National Assembly election of the United Republic of Tanzania, held on Sunday, October 31, were conducted in a peaceful manner. Japan congratulates H.E. Mr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, the incumbent President, on his reelection.
Under the leadership of President Kikwete, Japan expects that Tanzania will continue to contribute to maintaining peace and stability in the African region and hopes to further strengthen existingfriendly and cooperative relations between our two countries.
