- The Government of Japan welcomes the nomination of Mr. John Victor Roos
as new U.S. Ambassador to Japan.
- The GOJ understands that Mr. John Victor Roos has a brilliant career
as a lawyer, with expertise in the economic fields such as IT, and has the
confidence of President Obama. It highly appreciates his nomination as reflecting
the great importance the Obama Administration attaches to the Japan-US alliance.
- The Government of Japan expects that Mr. John Victor Roos will assume his new post at an early date and play an active role in various fields. The Government of Japan will work closely with Mr. John Victor Roos, and will, together with the United States, address the various issues facing the international community as well as bilateral issues, and make efforts to enhance the Japan-US alliance at every level and in every area.
