Japanese ODA Loan to the Republic of Indonesia

- The Government of Japan has decided to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 18,586 million yen in total to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia with a view to promoting its efforts for economic and social reform under the “Fifth Development Policy Loan” and the “Second Infrastructure Reform Sector Development Program.” Notes to this effect were exchanged in Jakarta on March 24 (Tue) between Mr. Takio Yamada, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of Japan to Indonesia, and Mr. Y. Kristiarto S. Legowo, Director for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia.

(1) Fifth Development Policy Loan 9,293 million yen
(2) Second Infrastructure Reform Sector Development Program 9,293 million yen
Total 18,586 million yen
- Outline of the Project
(1) Fifth Development Policy Loan
This loan assists the reform efforts by the government of Indonesia in areas such as the stabilization of the macro-economy, the improvement of the investment environment and governance, as well as poverty alleviation, in co-financing with the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
(2) Second Infrastructure Reform Sector Development Program
This program assists the reform efforts of the government of Indonesia for reforms in the field of infrastructure, in co-financing with the Asian Development Bank.
- Terms and conditions of the loan
(1) Interest rate: 0.7% per annum
(2) Repayment period: 15 years (including a five-year grace period)
(3) Procurement method: general untied
