Cancellation of the Visit of H.E. Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the First Vice President of the Republic of the Sudan

  1. The visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the First Vice President of the Republic of the Sudan, which was scheduled from March 9 (Mon) to 12 (Thu), has been cancelled at the request of the Sudanese side.  
     
  2. The “TICAD IV Follow-up Symposium - Japan’s Efforts to Promote Peace and Security in Africa : The Case of Sudan and Beyond-” (March 11 (Wed), at the United Nations University) hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which Vice President Salva Kiir was expected to attend, will be held as scheduled, but with the attendance of a cabinet minister of Sudan on behalf of the Vice President.
