Statement by the Press Secretary/ Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Current Situation in Bolivia

- The Government of Japan expresses its strong concern about the intensified
conflict between Government and anti-Government groups in Bolivia, which
resulted in many casualties.
- The Government of Japan urges all parties concerned in Bolivia to seek
a solution to the issue without recourse to violence and in conformity with
democracy, and strongly hopes that the situation will be settled through
dialogue and the democratic process be maintained.
- The Government of Japan will continue to pay attention to the situation with great concern.
