Release of the Seventh Report to the Leaders on the Japan-U.S. Regulatory Reform Initiative

- On July 5 (Sat), the Seventh Report to the Leaders on the Japan-U.S.
Regulatory Reform and Competition Policy Initiative, which reflects the
progress made through the seventh-year dialogue under the initiative, was
released.
- The Japan-U.S. Regulatory Reform Initiative is one of the forums established
under the U.S.-Japan Economic Partnership for Growth, which was announced
at the Japan-U.S. summit talks held in June 2001. This forum compiles
an annual report to the leaders of the two countries.
- This report builds on the results of the seventh-year dialogue that started when recommendations concerning regulatory reform were exchanged between Japan and the U.S. in October 2007.
