Partial Amendment of the Government Ordinance concerning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

July 1, 2008

  Today, July 1 (Tue), a government ordinance amending a part of the government ordinance concerning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was put into effect.  The gist of the amendment is as follows:

1. The names of the Mexico and Central America Division and the South America and Caribbean Division of the Latin America and Caribbean Affairs Bureau will be changed to the Mexico, Central America and Caribbean Division and the South America Division, respectively.  The Caribbean Community countries will come under the jurisdiction of the Mexico, Central America and Caribbean Division.
    
2. Kosovo will be added to the jurisdiction of the Central and South Eastern Division of the European Affairs Bureau.
