Exchange of Diplomatic Notes for the Entry into Force of the Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia for the Liberalization, Promotion and Protection of Investment

- Diplomatic Notes for the Entry into Force of the Agreement between
Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia for the Liberalization, Promotion and Protection
of Investment (hereinafter the “JCBIA”) were exchanged on July 1 (Tue) in
Phnom Penh. By this exchange, the Agreement will enter into force on July
31, 2008.
- Like other investment agreements and the investment chapters in
the economic partnership agreements that Japan has concluded in recent years,
the JCBIA has high-level contents, stipulating comprehensive and detailed matters
concerning the liberalization, promotion and protection of investment.
- It is hoped that the JCBIA’s entry into force will improve Cambodia’s investment environment and further strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries.
