Kidnapping of a Japanese national in Iran (Mr. Satoshi Nakamura arrived at Tehran and was handed over to the Japanese Embassy.)

June 15, 2008

  1. In the afternoon of June 15 (Japan time: night on the same day), Mr. Satoshi Nakamura, a kidnapping victim, was taken to Tehran, escorted by officials of the Government of Iran.  Afterwards, around 2:50 p.m. on the same day (Japan time: 7:20 p.m. of the same day), Mr. Nakamura was handed over safely to the staff of the Embassy of Japan in Iran.
     
  2. Mr. Nakamura’s health condition is now being checked at the Embassy.
     
  3. Mr. Nakamura is unharmed and in good health although he shows signs of fatigue.
     
  4. Considering his condition, Mr. Nakamura plans to return to Japan as soon as possible after taking a short rest.
