Japan-China Consular Agreement

- Prior to the State Visit to Japan by Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People's
Republic of China, Japan and the Republic of China came to a substantive
agreement on a Japan-China Consular Agreement.
- Japan and China agreed that the Japan-China Consular Agreement should contribute to appropriately solving increasing consular problems between the two countries, strengthening the protection of their people and consular organizations, and promoting friendly relations between Japan and China.
