The third Japan-China Press Secretary Consultations

- Mr. Kazuo Kodama, Press Secretary/Director-General for Press
and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, held the Third Japan-China
Press Secretary consultations with Mr. Liu Jianchao, Director-General, Information
Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China,
on April 18 in Tokyo.
- Both press secretaries agreed to cooperate in media and public
relations with a view to further developing Japan-China cooperative relations,
bearing in mind the visit to Japan by Mr. Hu Jintao, President of the People’s
Republic of China.
- Through the consultations, Mr. Kodama and Mr. Liu agreed to
have built mutual trust between the press secretaries who are in charge of media
and public relations, and to strengthen the direct contact between the Press
Secretary’s offices of both Ministries.
- Both sides reached agreement to hold the next round of consultations in Beijing at a mutually convenient time next year.
