Statement by Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Current Situation in Bolivia

  1. The Government of Japan is concerned about widening division of opinions between the Government of Bolivia and anti-government groups based mainly in the eastern region of the country over local autonomy and other matters.
     
  2. Japan places importance on Bolivia’s democratic and stable development and strongly hopes that all the parties concerned will seek a solution to the issue through dialogue in conformity with democracy.
