Statement by Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Current Situation in Bolivia

- The Government of Japan is concerned about widening division of opinions
between the Government of Bolivia and anti-government groups based mainly
in the eastern region of the country over local autonomy and other matters.
- Japan places importance on Bolivia’s democratic and stable development and strongly hopes that all the parties concerned will seek a solution to the issue through dialogue in conformity with democracy.
