ALERT：A Virus-infected e-mail is being circulated in the name of a MOFA Official

  1. An unidentified source is using the ministry’s domain “@mofa.go.jp” and sending out e-mails with virus-infected attachments.
     
  2. MOFA never attaches executable files to its e-mails, i.e. with the extension “.exe.” In the event that you receive any such e-mails from an unfamiliar source or with strange contents, please immediately delete the message without opening the attachment.
     
  3. MOFA has been cautious with its mail servers so that e-mails are not sent via a third-party server that conceals its sender, and is taking further measures to ensure that virus-contaminated e-mails are not circulated.  MOFA will continue to strengthen these measures.
