Japan-Austria Year 2009

On October 18th, 1869, Japan and Austria established their bilateral relations by concluding the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation. The year 2009 will mark the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations of Japan and Austria.
To further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries, the governments of Japan and Austria have decided to designate the year 2009 as ‘Japan ? Austria Year 2009’, and to organize commemorative events with participation and cooperation from a wide range of people and organizations in both countries.
1.Logo
The two countries have decided the following logo as a symbol of Japan ?Austria Year 2009. The logo symbolizes the national flags of Japan and Austria, and represents the strong relations between the two countries.

2.Registration of events under the Japan - Austria Year 2009
The two countries have decided to adopt events under the Japan ? Austria Year 2009 so that as many people and organizations as possible can participate and cooperate in the year.
