Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, Sends a Message of Sympathy on the Earthquake Disaster in Peru

In the morning of August 17 (Peru time), Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a message of sympathy to Mr. Alan Garcia Perez, President of the Republic of Peru, through the Embassy of Japan in Lima, on the major earthquake which struck Peru on August 15 at 18:40 Peru time, and caused severe damage mainly in Ica Department and the southern part of Lima Department. The message is as follows:
Having heard of the severe damage caused by the earthquake on the Pacific coast of your country on the 15th, on behalf of the government and the people of Japan, I would like to express our solidarity with the government and the people of your country, and extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
I pray for a quick recovery for the injured, and sincerely hope that the affected areas will recover as soon as possible with the leadership of your Excellency.
