  1. On May 18 (Fri), Japan and the Republic of Poland will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations, which was realized on May 18, 1957.

  2. Commemorating the 50th anniversary, Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, issued a letter to Ms. Anna Fotyga, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, offering congratulations on the anniversary and stating that Japan hopes to cooperate with Poland in forming the “Arc of Freedom and Prosperity” as a partner sharing common values, and delivered the letter to Dr. Marcin Rybicki, Polish Ambassador to Japan, on May 18 (Fri).
