Comments of the Government of Japan on the 2007 National Trade Estimate Report
May 10, 2007
- On May 9 (U.S. time), the Government of Japan submitted to the Government of the U.S. its comments on the 2007 National Trade Estimate Report that was issued by the U.S. Trade Representative in April.
- Although the two governments have carried on constructive dialogue, the Report still contains many inaccurate or unilateral descriptions. Therefore, the Government of Japan submitted its comments to the U.S. Government after giving due consideration and narrowing down comments as much as possible in light of past comments.
- The Government of Japan intends to continue comprehensive and constructive exchange of views on Japan-U.S. economic relations in such forums for bilateral dialogue as the Japan-U.S. Economic Partnership for Growth. It will continue to seek the correct understanding of the Government of the U.S. about the items taken up in the comments.
