Second Meeting of the Advisory Council on International Cooperation

May 9, 2007

1. The second meeting of the Advisory Council on International Cooperation was held on May 9 (Wed) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tokyo (International Conference Room 893).  
2. The meeting was attended by the members of the Advisory Council on International Cooperation, including Dr. Toshio Watanabe, President of Takushoku University.
3. At the meeting, there was a discussion on the Business Sector’s Basic View on the International Cooperation Policy.
4. The following two members, who were newly appointed from NGOs, attended the meeting from this time:  
         -Mr. Michiya Kumaoka, Vice Chairperson of Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC)
         -Mr. Hiroshi Kanda, Advocacy Coordinator of Kansai NGO  Council

 

Note: At the time of the first meeting, members from NGOs were still being selected by the NGO community.
