Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Six-Party Talks
December 31, 2007
- North Korea committed to provide a complete and correct declaration
of all its nuclear programs by December 31, 2007, in the document adopted
by the Six-Party Talks on October 3, 2007. It is unfortunate that this declaration
has not been provided yet. North Korea needs to provide a complete and correct
declaration of all its nuclear programs as quickly as possible, and steadily
carry out, and complete at an early date, disablement of the three nuclear
facilities at Yongbyon while taking safety considerations into account.
- The Government of Japan will continue to make efforts, together with the U.S. and other relevant countries, towards the early implementation of the Second-phase actions agreed at the Six-Party Talks and the complete implementation of the September 2005 Joint Statement of the Six-Party Talks.
