Dispatch of Mr. Masatoshi Wakabayashi, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister, to Attend the International Conference for Support to Lebanon

The Government of Japan will dispatch Mr. Masatoshi Wakabayashi, Minister of the Environment, as Special Envoy of the Prime Minister, to attend the International Conference for Support to Lebanon, to be held on January 25 (Thu) in Paris.
At the Conference, the participants will discuss assistance by the international community for Lebanon, which is in a worsening financial situation after the conflict last summer. Since the stability of Lebanon is essential for achieving peace in the Middle East, Mr. Wakabayashi will announce at the conference Japan's efforts to help Lebanon including assistance in such fields as water provision and environment.
