Survey of Cultural Heritage Sites Damaged by Earthquake in Yogyakarta and Central Java, Indonesia

- Jointly with the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will conduct a disaster damage survey of cultural heritage sites in the wake of the earthquake that occurred on May 27, 2006 in central Java, Republic of Indonesia.
- This survey, in response to a request from the Government of Indonesia, will cover the Prambanan Temple Compounds (UNESCO World Heritage) and other damaged cultural heritage sites in Yogyakarta city and its suburbs. The survey team will also have consultations with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other relevant organizations on the rehabilitation and restoration of these cultural heritage sites.
