Earthquake Disaster in Central Java, Republic of Indonesia (Dispatch of Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team)

- On May 29, responding to the request made by the Indonesian Government, the Government of Japan decided to dispatch Japan's Self Defense Forces units for medical assistance as a Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team. The advance team will depart for the site tomorrow (May 30).
- The Government of Japan has announced and extended various kinds of aid for the earthquake disaster which hit Central Java, Indonesia, on May 27. Considering that the need for medical personnel remains high, the Government of Indonesia requested to other countries today (late afternoon of May 29) medical assistance including one from the foreign military forces.
