GUESTS AND NATIONAL / SPECIAL DAYS
OF THE 2005 WORLD EXPOSITION, AICHI, JAPAN
13-19 August

  1. The following guests and national day events are expected during the period 13-19 August in connection with the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan:

    (1) The Hon. Natan Teewe, Minister of Communication, Transport and Tourism Development of the Republic of Kiribati, will visit Japan from 13 to 18 August, to attend the National Day event on 15 August at the Expo site.

    (2) The Hon. Bikenibeu Paeniu, Minister of Finance, National Planning and Industries of Tuvalu, and his spouse, will visit Japan from 13 to 17 August, to attend the National Day event on 15 August at the Expo site.

    (3) H.E. Dr. Musa Mohamed Omer Saeed, Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan in Tokyo, will attend the National Day event on 16 August at the Expo site.

    (4) H.E. Dr. Mari Elka Pangestu, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, will visit Japan from 16 to 18 August, to attend the National Day event on 17 August at the Expo site.

    (5) Hon. Prof. Peter Anyang Nyong'o, Minister for Planning and National Development of the Republic of Kenya, will visit Japan from 16 to 22 August, to attend the National Day event on 18 August at the Expo site.

    (6) H.E. Mr. Abel Pacheco de la Espriella, President of the Republic of Costa Rica, will visit Japan from 17 to 21 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

    (7) H.E. Ms. Ana Vilma Albanez de Escobar, Vice President of the Republic of El Salvador, will visit Japan from 16 to 20 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

    (8) H.E. Mr. Óscar José Rafael Berger Perdomo, President of the Republic of Guatemala, will visit Japan from 17 to 20 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

    (9) H.E. Mr. Ricardo Maduro Joest, President of the Republic of Honduras, will visit Japan from 17 to 20 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

    (10) H.E. Mr. José Rizo Castellon, Vice-President of the Republic of Nicaragua, will visit Japan from 17 to 20 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

    (11) H.E. Mr. Samuel Lewis Navarro, Vice-President of the Republic of Panama, will visit Japan from 17 to 20 August, to attend the National Day event on 19 August at the Expo site.

  2. The Government of Japan is pleased to welcome the dignitaries who will visit Japan as Guests of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan, to attend their own national days to be held at the Expo site.

NOTE:

(1) "The 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan" is being held for the period 25 March - 25 September under the theme "Nature's Wisdom".

(2) 121 countries and 4 international organizations participating in the World Exposition are scheduled to hold a NATIONAL DAY (for countries) or a SPECIAL DAY (for international organizations) event to celebrate their participation either at the EXPO Dome or the EXPO Hall at the EXPO site.
