Announcement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Visit to Japan by Ms. Jadranka Kosor, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia

Ms. Jadranka Kosor, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Family, Veterans' Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity of the Republic of Croatia, will visit Japan from April 10 (Sun) to 13 (Wed) as Guest of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan, to attend the national day of Croatia to be held at the Exposition on April 12 (Tue).

Ms. Kosor will be the first Croatian VIP to visit Japan since April 2004 when Mr. Beranko Vukelic, Minister of Economy, Labour and Enterpreneurship, and Mr. Ante Babic, State Secretary of the Central State Administrative Office for the Development Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, visited Japan to attend the Ministerial Meeting for the Consolidation of Peace and Economic Development in the Western Balkans.

The Government of Japan heartily welcomes the forthcoming visit to Japan by Ms. Kosor as it is expected to further deepen friendly relations between Japan and Croatia.
