Dispatch of the Second Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team to Large-Scale Earthquake Disaster in Pakistan and Surrounding Areas

- On October 19 (Wed), the Government of Japan decided on the dispatch of a second Japan Disaster Relief Medical Team comprising 21 persons, taking account of still-very-high medical needs in the areas affected by the large-scale earthquake which occurred on October 8 (Sat) at the epicenter of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
- The second team will leave Japan on October 20 (Thu), take over the first medical team's duties now on-going in Batgram, and engage in medical activities for about two weeks.
