Dispatch of a Special Envoy for the Inauguration Ceremony of the President of Ukraine

- The Government of Japan has decided to dispatch Mr. Hakuo Yanagisawa, Member of the House of the Representatives, to Ukraine to attend as a Special Envoy the presidential inauguration ceremony of Mr. Viktor Yushchenko, to be held soon in the capital city, Kiev.
- The decision on the dispatch was made with the intention that Japan, which has been extending assistance for Ukraine's democratization and transition to market economy, will continue in concert with the international community to support Ukraine's efforts toward these ends under the new President and from the viewpoint of further promoting bilateral relations between Japan and Ukraine.
