January 13, 2005
- The Government of Japan decided to adjust the final amounts (totaling 24.6 billion yen) of country-by-country assistance for the disaster caused by the major earthquake off the coast of Sumatra and the tsunami in the Indian Ocean as follows:
- Japan initially planned to extend two billion yen out of the above 24.6 billion yen (equivalent to a total of $250 million) to Thailand. Upon this offer the Government of Japan conducted further consideration and decided on the above reallocation.
| Indonesia | 14.6 | billion yen |
| Sri Lanka | 8 | billion yen |
| Maldives | 2 | billion yen |
