Minister for Foreign Affairs Yoriko Kawaguchi sent a message to Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Downer of Australia expressing her strong indignation at the large-scale bombing incident that occurred near the Australian Embassy, located in the central area of Jakarta, the capital of the Republic of Indonesia, which resulted in deaths and many injuries. Foreign Minister Kawaguchi reaffirmed Japan's intention to cooperate closely with Australia to enhance international coordination in the fight against terrorism.
