Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, issued the following statement regarding the bombing incidents in Baghdad and Karbala, Iraq, and the attacks in Quetta, Pakistan, on March 2.
  1. Japan is deeply shocked and angered by the terrorist bombings in Baghdad and Karbala, Iraq, and the attacks in Quetta, Pakistan, that occurred on March 2 (Tue), causing many deaths and injuries. Terrorism cannot be justified on any account. Japan reiterates its firm condemnation of brutal terrorist attacks, which victimize the innocent.

  2. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims and the bereaved and wish that the injured will meet a speedy recovery.
