Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Protective Custody of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other NLD members by the Myanmar Government

  1. Japan closely follows, with concerns, the situations involving Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and other members of National League for Democracy (NLD) since May 30th.

  2. Japan expects the Myanmar Government to treat those in custody appropriately and rectify the situations immediately, including ensuring them for freedom of political activities.
