Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Terrorist Attack in Islamabad, Pakistan

- The Government of Japan strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, which took place on March 17. This attack caused many casualties, including injury to a family member of an official of the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan. Japan expresses its deepest condolences to the families of those killed, and sincerely wishes the injured speedy recovery to health.
- The Government of Japan, expecting that the Government of Pakistan and its people will redouble their efforts to erase social violence and terrorism including punishing the perpetrators of this attack, will continue to support such efforts.
