Measures taken by the Government of Japan concerning the bombing incident that occurred in Bali, Indonesia, on October 12 are as follows:

Message from Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister, to Ms. Megawati Soekarnoputri, President of Indonesia, condemning terrorism and expressing condolences and the Government of Japan's intention to assist Indonesia's efforts to investigate the incident and prevent similar incidents (October 14)

  3. Message from Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister, to Mr. John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia (October 15)

  4. Message from Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Dr. N. Hassan Wirajuda, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, condemning terrorism and expressing condolences and the Government of Japan's intention to assist Indonesia's efforts to investigate the incident and prevent similar incidents (October 14)

  6. Dispatch of a JICA profiling expert (October 13)
    Dispatched a JICA profiling expert who stations as a coordinator in Jakarta, to support the identification of the victims.

  7. Dispatch of Terrorism Response Team (TRT) of the National Police Agency (three persons) (October 15)
    Dispatched a Terrorism Response Team (TRT) comprising three persons from the National Police Agency to exchange information with local security authorities, and support the investigation and other activities.

  8. Dispatch of Terrorism Response Team (TRT) of the National Police Agency (three persons) (October 16)
    Dispatched a Terrorism Response Team (TRT) comprising three persons from the National Police Agency to provide technical advice, instruction and other expertise in identification based on the exchange of information with the Indonesian authorities.

  9. Dispatch of an expert on forensic odontology (October 16)
    Dispatched an expert on forensic odontology to identify remains of victims.
