Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the Current Situation in the Kingdom of Nepal

It is extremely deplorable that an armed campaign by the Maoists has been resumed in the Kingdom of Nepal despite the efforts being made to resolve the issues facing the country through dialogue between the Government and the Maoists. Japan condemns the recent series of attacks and bombings.
Japan supports the efforts of the Government of Nepal being conducted in accordance with the framework under the Constitution, and strongly hopes that normalcy will be restored as quickly as possible.
