- Japan welcomes the withdrawal of the Israel Defense Force (IDF) from Lebanon on May 24.
- Japan expects continued self-restraint and efforts by the parties concerned so that fighting will not be resumed in this region.
- Japan strongly hopes that the withdrawal of IDF will lead to the resumption of the stalled negotiations on the Lebanese and the Syrian tracks, and eventually to the realization of a comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
