Statement by the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Signing of Framework Agreement for Peace in Djibouti

  1. Japan welcomes the fact that on February 7 in Paris, the Government of Djibouti, represented by Mr. Ali Guelleh Aboubaker, Chief of Cabinet of the President, and the armed Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD), represented by Mr. Ahmed Dini Ahmed, signed a framework agreement for peace.

  2. Japan strongly hopes that the signing of the agreement will promote national reconciliation leading to real political stability in Djibouti.
